Carol was a Camp Counselor at Camp Kookalah[1].
When her CIT was unexpectedly absent due to illness, Sharon was moved up the trainee ladder to take her place. This was because she was 3 months older than her friends, which was regarded as a small mark of seniority.
Among the Campers, Carol was the most feared and dreaded Counselor that could be assigned, due to her strict adherence to rules and discipline. She even gained the nickname "Corporal Carol", because the Campers thought she belonged in the military.
Maria's impersonation depicted her as a Drill Sergeant.
Prior to Sharon being appointed as her CIT, Carol's past trainees had all won the Bald Eagle Award 3 years in a row. Sharon ended that streak by being caught out after hours with their Campers.
Carol mentioned that was her last year as a Counselor at Camp Kookalah, although she was seen later[2].
